Children & Youth Sunday School Promotion Sunday: August 22

A new school year is just around the corner -- for our Sunday School, too! Students will forward into new classes on Sunday, August 22, as we celebrate Children and Youth Sunday School Promotion Day. Our 11 a.m. worship service will include a special “Blessing of the Students” prayer. We hope you will all join us for this special Sunday as we kick off a new church year.

Looking at other Children's Ministry activities, our kick-off for Music ‘n’ Missions also will be Sunday, August 22, with a special event starting right after the 11 a.m. service. Our first regular rotation night of Music ‘n’ Missions activities will be Wednesday, August 25 -- with choirs at 5:30 p.m. and Missions at 6:20 p.m. Project 4:12 will begin on Wednesday, September 8 in the college classroom at 6:30 p.m. Questions? Join Us for the Barlow Baby Shower on August 1

Pastoral Resident Jonathan Barlow may be known for his work with our Youth, but he and wife Susan are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to focus on a much younger ministry target -- they're expecting their first son, Peyton Baker Barlow, on September 8! To help them prepare for the great journey that is parenthood, the SPdL church family is throwing them a baby shower on Sunday, August 1, at 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you will join us for the celebration.

Additional details: The couple has decided on a Dr. Seuss theme for Peyton's room and have registered at Babies R Us (Registry #: 45224189), Target (Registry ID: 014120600001151), and Pottery Barn Kids (Registry ID: 2518383). More information about the baby shower will be coming soon.
