Hello Youth and Parents!

I hope that everyone enjoyed the Fourth of July. The sermon that Dr. Vestal preached was very good and if you weren’t able to make it on Sunday you should check out the podcast. I thought he did an excellent job of hitting on a real tension in the American Christian Baptist’s life (which we all happen to be).

China
The youth are getting prepared for China! It is going to be a great trip and all those who are going are really excited. I want to ask a favor of you who are not going though: Please pray for us daily.

Here is an outline of what is going on each day. I hope you will be in prayer for the group each day, that we will represent Christianity, American Baptists, and our church -- most importantly -- with the utmost integrity.

July 12: Depart Atlanta
Please pray for safe travels and smooth transitions.

July 13 –16: Spend time in Beijing
Please pray that the group adjusts well and handles the jet lag well.

July 17–July 21: Spend time in Chengdu teaching English classes
Please pray for us and the students as we share our knowledge, love and the hope we have with them.

July 22–23: Head home
Please pray for safe travels and smooth transitions.

Movies and Life
The church is not meeting for the next two Wednesdays, therefore Movies and Life is cancelled as well.

Second Saturday
Our next Second Saturday Mission project will take place July 10. Our assignment comes from Senior Citizens Services of Atlanta and will involve house painting and light home maintenance chores. If you are interested in attending please contact Lisa Lynch at llynch@spdl.org
