Sunday, November 12, we're encouraging folks to get together after worship in small groups and head out to have lunch together. These Sunday Lunch Bunch groups might be big or small and they'll go to different restaurants. You should join us! Just meet at the North Bridge entrance (near the church office) after worship. Find a group and a restaurant that suits you and off you go! This is an informal, light-hearted fellowship group, so come prepared to laugh together, swap stories, eat good food and enjoy each other's company. Want more info? Sunday, August 13, we're starting the Sunday Lunch Bunch, a group, might be big, might be small, of church folks getting together for lunch after worship. Everyone who participates will have a chance to choose the restaurant for the week. You should join us! Those interested should meet at the North Bridge entrance (near the church office) after church. We'll decide where to eat and head out from there. This is an informal, light-hearted fellowship group, so come prepared to laugh together, swap stories, eat good food and enjoy each other's company. Want more info? Celebrating Juneteeth

Juneteenth (June + nineteenth) celebrates the date in 1865 when Texas, the last stronghold of slavery, received a formal decree to liberate all enslaved people.

As Christians, we honor this day because after generations of calling on the Lord for deliverance, our enslaved brothers and sisters were set free. The triumph over oppression is one of the greatest themes in the Bible.

The lyrics of a sacred Christmas hymn come to mind:

Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love, and His gospel is peace.

Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother; And in His name, all oppression shall cease.

Thanks be to God.
