Meet Tiffany and Angie
Each month, for the remainder of 2023, our church blog will spotlight members of the Second-Ponce support staff--those faces, voices and emails working behind the scenes to serve our church to the glory of God. This month, we invite you to meet Tiffany Baumstark and Angie Cagle.
Tiffany Baumstark
Director of Administrative Systems and Events
Describe your job for our readers
I manage the office systems (copiers, phones, computers, office supplies, etc.). There are a lot of behind-the-scenes tasks and troubleshooting required and I regularly drop what I am doing to help find resolutions when any of the staff has an issue.
I maintain the membership database as well as coordinate and calendar all of our internal events, working with Glenn Ambrose, our caterer, and the facilities staff to ensure events go as seamlessly as possible. Having worked here at Second-Ponce for 24 years, my job has changed considerably over the years. I have enjoyed working with so many members along the way, and it’s those relationships that make my job so rewarding.
Share a behind-the-scenes job story that our readers don’t know.
I have met Jimmy Carter twice while working events here. Once for Governor Sanders’ memorial, and again for the China Bible Exhibit. I was surprised to discover he is shorter than I am!
How would you spend the extra time if you had 25 hours in a day?
I would sleep more, play with my son more, work on the inevitable 57 projects I want to do and enjoy as much outside time as possible in my garden.
If you could instantly pick up a new skill, what would it be and why?
Welding. I’ve always wanted to learn how since it’s useful for many creative endeavors. I especially love antique ironwork and lamps.
What is your favorite movie snack?
Popcorn, hands down. It’s my bedtime snack every night, too.
What are some of your interests outside of work?
Gardening, restoring the ecosystem, sewing, woodworking and other DIY projects. We’re very excited to be welcoming a new kitten to our woefully cat-free household in April. Our kitten is now a month old, and is a hypo-allergenic Siberian for our son who has significant cat allergies. We’ll welcome the kitten home in mid-April.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Our family of three went on our first beach trip without extended family during the pandemic. We had a wonderful, brief stay at Fort Walton Beach. We otherwise look forward to our annual beach trip to Oak Island, NC with Lew’s (my husband) family.
Which of Snow White’s Seven Dwarfs describes you best? (Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy or Sneezy)
Happy. My baseline is happiness and I have learned to cultivate a spirit of gratitude through life’s challenges.
Finish this phrase: I’m not awake until I have…
Turned off my five alarms. I am not a morning person.
What common “thing” have you never done?
I’ve never had a manicure. I don’t like people messing with my hands. Pedicures are awesome, though!
Angie Cagle
Church Receptionist
Describe your job for our readers
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., I answer phone calls and emails and, of course, “buzz” folks in the door. I also prepare the children’s bags for Sunday worship which include stories and games related to the weekly sermon. And by the way, these puzzles can keep your brain sharp! I’ve also learned to print the Order of Worship, event flyers, the prayer list and the Sunday School sheet for those rare times when Vicki is out of the office. I also keep the soft drinks and snacks stocked for the break room because it's very important that folks have their favorite caffeine and chocolate as needed!
All in all, I see a lot of people day in and day out, whether it’s waving from behind my desk or talking with those who come into the office. It’s a joy to have the fellowship and friendship I receive at this desk. Every day is a new with more to absorb and learn.

Climbing ladders and helping decorate at Christmas.
How would you spend the extra time if you had 25 hours in a day?
Throw toys an extra hour for my 2 Yorkshire Terriers, Jonah Justice, and Naomi Justice
If you could instantly pick up a new skill, what would it be and why?
I would own a trawler and go shrimping every morning. Why? Because I love shrimp boats ... their grace and beauty ... they make my heart smile. I enjoy all the beauty of low country living. What a beautiful gift from God.
What is your favorite movie snack?
Popcorn, very salty
What are some of your interests outside of work?
Birding, growing vegetables, reading all of Elin Hilderbrand books along with Mary Alice Monroe's Low Country and Beach House Series'. If you have not had the pleasure, you should pick one up. Of course, they are best when read at the beach, sitting in a chair, as waves wash over your feet.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
In 2020, when we renovated a Villa in SC
